Cutting Out

New guy here......Got an 06 Super Duty 3v 5.4. 119,xxx miles. This thing cuts out either at full throttle between 4,000-5,200rpm or when im just cruising at around 1,500rpm. Changed the air filter and fuel filter. Neither were all that bad. I know it still has factory plugs in it because they are painted on top. But I also have a little exhaust leak on the back of the manifold, assuming from the gasket. So I guess my question is......will that exhaust leak cause my cutting out issue? And on a side note, whats everyones success rate on getting plugs out of these with this kind of mileage on them. I know I will use e3 plugs and will probably need the lisle 65600 tool. Thanks in advance

Not sure about the other stuff but stay away from e3s I used them and had nothing but problems they worked fine for a couple of months then I started getting misfires left and right and the plugs looked brand new still just a heads up

Use Motorcraft SP-515. Use high temperature nickel antiseize on the ground sleeves.

I had a buddy with that same issue now that I think about it bad manifold leak and it cut out we ran sea foam thru it and replaced the manifolds these guys will probably recommend techron which after what I've read I think would be a better choice but the manifolds were bad they split into a couple of pieces then we cut the cat off thinking it could be plugged and it runs great now
