Further, the intake ports black, so last Saturday brother and i pulled the motor through the engine bay, hood off, All day and half of sunday. After work today I pulled the valve covers off camshaft checks okay, oil pan comes off and the whole bottom of the pan is covered in this gold/copper flakes. What is this from?

Trust bearings are gold plated (kind of brass) in CAT diesel engines... i thing gas engines use the same type of material. You should go further to dealership..
