help with a few codes

ok my codes are b11676 and p0155. I have a 2003 kingranch supercrew with the 5.4. Yesterday i went to replace my alternator and the new one was bad out the box. I put the old one on and just changed the belt tensioner . I have a sequel and these two were making noise when i spun them with the belt off. The old alternator tested fine just makes noise. So i put it all back together and was out today and the check light came on. I went to auto store and these were the codes that popped up. I'm Not sure if it is something i did when the new bad alternator was running on the truck. It only ran for a few mins gauges were acting funny running back and forth and no electric to anything. Only ran for about 3 mins. I took it off and put the old one back on. It seems to run and idle fine any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

Those are bank 2 o2 sensor codes sensors 1 & 2 witch is odd. Check the wiring. It is unlikely both sensors failed. You should have replaced the idler pulley while you were at it.

yeah i will replace that too when i get the new alt. I ll check the wiring got to find a spot to crawl underneath with all the snow on the ground it sure is cold under there. What should i look for? Could it be that easy that a plug is dirty or lose?

I would follow the harness and look for damage. Both sensors giving codes is odd. Try disconnecting the battery and see if that reset makes it go away.. The plug conections would have to affect both and I cant remember any connections like that so no I dont think its that. Damage wire in a section that both sensor wires are in..

When the light came on yesterday. I had it scanned guy at the store said code was b1676 battery was low and needed a charge. So I took it home and put it on a charger for a bit. While it was charge the battery was disconnected. It was off for a short while this morning then came on while I was out on my route. I stopped at a different store and scanned just told p0155 need a new o2. Unhooked battery went on with route. Light came back on 15miles or so later. Different store then the rest scanned came back with b1676, p0155, p1000.

There are no B codes so that one is who knows what but I assumed it was really p1167. Po155 is telling you the heater to the front 02 isnt working witch means the sensor is either bad or its unplugged/disconnected. P1000 is that the engine hasnt ran for long enough for the full setup of the OBD II program

The paper he gave me says b1676 is battery pack voltage out of range. The p1000 I left off the first post because I haven't driven it much from unhooking battery and having it scanned again.

Ok I gotcha The b code is from your anti lock brakes there is a power issue. I've gotten simular codes when I had a failing alternator. If this is a current code since you put in the alternator you need to check your work. If it all checks out I would put an ohm meter on the battery and see if your getting 14+ volts with the engine running.

I have not put in a new alternator i put the old one back in. It tested good but when spun by hand would make noise. The new one I received was bad so I am sending it back and waiting on a new one. Another question which o2 should i be looking at. The driver or passenger side. Thanks for the help

Bank 2 is drivers side. Front. If its me I do them both. The passenger side is a bugger to get to.. I have to remove the trans dipstick and thats real nauseating.. Some guys claim they can do it with out but I dont see how.

I was planning on putting new o2 in a few weeks when it warms up a bit. I will check the wires tomorrow. If I need a new one which brand is best the store had a few different ones with prices all over 35-100.

Rockauto.com has excellent prices. Bosch or motorcraft. If you get motorcraft make sure you LOOK at the pigtail and the color you order is correct. That makes a difference. Bosch are universal. If you not real good with a wrench consider paying to have it done. Its not easy. Especially the passenger side.

I am change the oil and gas filter tomorrow. I'm going to check the o2 while I'm under there. Double check the alternator. I will post the findings then.

Well got under her today and took a look. Doesn't look to be anything like a lose connection or broke wire. Ill be ordering some o2 and see how it goes from there. Is it alright to drive with the o2 not working right?
