Throttle Body Cleaning

When you clean your throttle body, do most recommend taking it off and cleaning it manually, or is it safe to clean it with spray and/or sea foam? I read somewhere cleaning while running could damage or cloag your catalytic converters.

Disconnect it and take it off.....if you leave it on and use some types of cleaners they'll go where you don't want them to.....

Seafoam is junk.....don't even think about it

Use a cleaner that specifically implies what its used for.....like TB cleaner from CRC.....

Its true those chemicals can't be good for your engine and the reality is you cant get it clean without taking it off. I use throttle body cleaner and brass pipe cleaning brushes.
