Injector #1 was bad, however cat is partially blocked from the excess fuel so cat is on order...Wow cost Ford $1800 for cat, and $60 for injector.....Still have 6 known defective injectors in the engine...Next time I might not be so lucky, could get hydroloc....That is called penny wise and pound foolish.

thanks kaboom10, I am trying a letter to Ford asking them why they want to spend $4000 in parts on my vehicle when they could spend less than $200 in the remaining injectors to eliminate the problem from happening again while i am under their warranty for the injectors. I will see what kind of response I get from Ford Motor Company...

That's the way it is. Just before your extended injector warranty runs out, I'd replace the rest of them with the updated parts. Your dealer should be able to give you the part number for the updated injectors. This is what Rock Auto shows for them:
MOTORCRAFT Part # CM5138 {#5C3Z9F593DC, CM5091}

$23.79

Well customer no service from Ford Motor company just read the warranty letter to me instead of answering my email...So I will write Ford Motor Company Dearborn to raise the issue higher.
I talked to management at Customer no Service and still same response...No logic, just answer with their lame warranty which causes no integrity in the reliability of known bad injectors....6 to go.

ABSOLUTE FRUSTRATION!!! Guys I'm back to the drawing board on my truck. I've spoken to a couple of mechanics and got this blank stare from both. I've got one more to try Monday (guy I've known for years) and hope he has some idea. Everybody keeps telling me to change this and that but only because they don't have a clue what to do.
I did a vacuum test this morning and it was good and steady. Cannot for the life of me get this thing to throw any more codes. Cylinder misfires have been random (8 then 4 then 6). Due to the random nature I've ruled out fuel injector, cop or plug problem (when pulled each has been good). Fuel filter has been changed, MAF cleaned (again), PCV valve changed. Slightly rough at idle but when put in gear and driven with slight load misfires and hesitates so bad it will shake your fillings loose and still no code. Going up a hill is the roughest ride you can imagine. When there is no load it smooths out considerably.
I'm a shade tree mechanic at best but if a certified mechanic looks at me with a blank stare what the heck am I supposed to do? This truck ran absolutely great until it hit 138k miles. I know there has to be something I can do without throwing money at parts just for the heck of it.
Sorry for venting...

Hi you all! this is my first time on this site and I really like it, there is a lot of helpful information, i have a problem with my 2003 F150 CC (4X4), 5.4L. truck kept giving me code cyl #4 misfire! Missing badly on idle! after replacing plugs, coil pack, injector, etc. mechanic said there was a coolant leak going inside the cylinder and suggested to do the heads and I did! Well I am still having same problem, visual inspection on block looked OK. How can I make sure block is Ok, I will really appreciate your assistance on this. Thank you all!
