302 to 350 engine swap in an '88 F-150 2wD

I have an '88 F150 with a 5.0 and I would like some input on dropping a 5.7 Vortec engine in it. I'm probably goin to replace the intake manifold to run a carbureted delivery. I know this might cause a bunch of negative feedback but in the sake of hot roddin and bein a gearhead please keep the negativity off this thread. Im lookin for advice also for the rest of the powertrain to have a street/ strip setup.

With the availibilty of aftermarket parts for the small block ford, why even worry about this swap? After you look at the price for getting the parts to make the vortec work you can throw a good set of heads/cam/ and intake on the 302 alone to run circles around the vortec......just my .02. Good luck either way

for real? WHy wreck a ford with a bowtie engine? I have a 351 windsor ho up here for sale that will run circles around any bowtie engine! Think it came out of a 86 ford two wheel drive pick up. for all of the hassle youd be better of finding a FORD engine as in the 351, 302, heck even the 289 was a bullet proof engine that would produce tons of horses! to stand with the naysayers here id have to agree into the ease of swapping in a larger windsor motor into your truck. less inital investment in order to so the swap. in the interest of individuality i would look at a company called advance adapters. big time company that specializes in swapping drivetrains into different manufacturers chassis.
