Differnece between GT 4.6 and Triton 4.6

What's the difference between the 04 Mustang GT 2 valve 4.6's and the Triton 4.6's in our trucks?

That's the only difference? Heads are the same, same computer? I just want to know why people don't put Mustang superchargers on there 4.6 trucks.

same heads yeah, computer tuning is different, but its mostly just the intake manifold. mustang superchargers would work, it just gets its air from the passenger side, unlike the truck s/c'ers

Well couldn't someone just relocate the air intake assembly? I'm surprised that no ones done this, as far as my knowledge.

I am betting the cams are different too. The truck is a lot heavier and the torque on the truck comes on lower if I remember correctly. The long block will interchange between them. That is a for sure.

Cams are the same too. The torque comes on lower for the truck due to the intake manifold design, longer runners.

depends on what year of GT you are talking about? a pre-'04 gt was a 2 valve the newer GT's have 3 valve heads while the trucks stilll have a 2 valve 4.6

the 4.6 2 valve superchargers will work but you'll have to mod ita bit make it work on your truck

What would you need to mod?

its not just the motor fitment you need to be concerned with, you need to consider routing around things such as the frame, starter, steering column.

This topic seems to come up frequently, that is guys looking for an s/c for the newer 4.6's. If I was to embark on the journey to a have new model 4.6 blown, I would start by looking at the 03's to see what the difference is from old body style to new.
Why would Ford reinvent the wheel as far as the engine package is concerned just because the body has changed? So much of the small stuff can be moved around under the hood, and with an air/air intercooled centi, almost anything would be doable. If the s/c mounting brackets were compatable from 03 to 04, then the rest is just frustration!

Any one have any idea if what header I can put on my 2007 4.6L as long as the header lines up with the head and I can get by the frame and trans the rest is easy. Or what about short tube headers worth it or not.
