That flux capacitor idea must have great potential for high MPG. If it can travel 30 years in seconds, just imagine the possibilities!

These story's usually pick up steam every gas crisis. Back in the 70's a guy who ran with my crowds dad claimed he invented a carburetor that ran on part water blah blah blah. My old friends still buy into the story. I never did.. Crap.. That was during the late 70's when there were gas lines and all.. Every time gas get expensive ( I've never seen where there was a shortage since the 70's hint you can tell when gas is scarce YOU CANT GET IT) I here more story's like that.

The problem with all the stories about vehicles running on water is that water is burnt hydrogen. There is no stored energy.

Now the Bruce Crower 6 cycle engine is a different story since it uses water to recover some energy from the heat lost during the combustion cycle.

In a modern Otto cycle engine: ~1/3 energy drives the vehicle, ~1/3 goes into the radiator, ~1/3 goes out the tail pipe. The Crower design attempts to capture power from the 1/3 wasted in the radiator.

No special carburetor will significantly change the above numbers.

Yeap that little 2.8 could still get up and run too.

Back in the day my Father inlaw drove his T-bird down to South Florida and we followed in the Cutlass. When he had to pull in to gas up I just parked off to the side. He say's your not going to fill up?? I say I'm still above a half a tank and I'll fill up the next time you have to stop for gas

The 2.8 was a V-6. I had one in a 89 Beretta with a 5 speed stick. It used to get 29 mpg on the highway with 87 octane and 32 mpg with 93 octane.

I had an 86 camaro with that motor. wifes car never drove it much and dont recall how economical it was. I did R & R the engine in that car. Put a rebuilt one in there. very small engine could almost pick it up by myself.

Urban myth. If there was a patent you would be able to read it.

I had a 73 VW Super Beatle that I was able to get in the low 40MPG rage driving highway. I rigged a manual pull choke cable to the accelerator to create cruse control ( the car did not come with any ) and would get up to speed and pull the choke cable out.....
Now, I would not recommend doing anything like that today as the roads have much more traffic and I was just a stupid kid back then,,,,,, but it worked great.

Whats funny is me and my son went to Lowes tonight and picked up some SS washers, plastic spacers and bolts just to see what would happen. Wired a couple of washers up and drop it is some water then hooked up to a 6 amp battery charger and before you knew it we had gas from 2 amps. Makes a nice little boom when you drop a match on top of it.

With more plates and bigger cell who knows ?? I got a Yamaha 200 that might make for a fun project with my son and then he can ride it to High School as a Science project.
