So heres my deal... I got a 95 F150 302 5 speed, I went out to start it the other day and I cranked and cranked on it about 6 times, wouldnt start. Then tried again, fired right up, ran great. Went to a buddies house, let it sit for about 5 hours, went out to start it, wouldnt start. Cranked and cranked, and cranked, then boom fired up, then it kinda cut out a couple times driving home. Drove it to work, ran fine. Then a buddy of mine and I were trying to figure it out, so we kept starting it and shutting it off. fired up just fine 6 or 7 times. So we gave up. later that night, I wanted to make sure it was gonna start when I left work, so again, I fired it up 5 or 6 times. no problems. Great! went to leave work, fired up, ran fine, took it to the movies, came out, fired up just fine. Then the next morning it wouldnt start again. Hasnt ran since. Its not getting spark out of the coil. I tested the ICM, replaced the coil, replaced the cap and rotor (cuz it was pretty rough), and it still wont start. Any ideas would be great.

 

More than likely the spark control module. If yours is an early model, pre January, it should be mounted on the dizzy. It may also be remote mounted.

 

figured it out. It was the ignition pick up inside the dizzy. It musta got some coolant in there when The timing cover gasket blew. thanks tho

 

The PIP is actually UNaffected by water. But the cap & rotor are very susceptible to shorting due to water, so that's what was happening.

BTW
All '92-96 have a remote TFI.

 

Funny, cuz I replaced the cap and rotor a couple days before just like it says in my post, and still had the same problem. So maybe it IS affected by water.
