Save some for me brew I'll be right over To my knowledge a W code has always been a Romeo and a Windsor is a 6. Are you sure its the original engine? No one could ever explain why Ford used a W for Romeo when it would make sense to use it for a Windsor....Maybe thats why, because it made sense.. Now I really know why I retired.

The 1999 model year Mustang got the 4.6 Pi Heads. The trucks in 2001.
All the 4.6 2V engines share the same bellhousing and engine mount bolt patterns. All the Non Pi heads share the same intake and exhaust bolt patterns. All the Pi heads share the same intake and exhaust bolt patterns.

The simple answer is yes. If you know enough about the engines.....
You will have to contend with a number of obstacles. The throttle body faces the passenger side and the truck faces forward. Not sure about the oil pan. You will encounter the similar wiring issues as if using a 5.4. I would post this question in the engine forum.
