5.4L Engine Swap

5.4L Engine Swap
So I'm looking at a 1999 F-150 that had the 5.4L in it. I'm not sure if it still has it in it, but none the less it needs a new engine (Does still have the transmission). I have found a 5.4L from a 1999 Expedition that I'm assuming will work. I plan on putting in the engine myself. I have a cherry picker that I can use and engine hoist as well. My questions are:
1. Are there manuals for putting in the new engine? If so, what do you recommend?
2. Has anyone done it themselves? What sort of complications came with it and how long did it take you?
3. Are there any forseen problems with putting the expedition motor into the F-150? i.e. parts not lining up, etc.
4. Anything else you can think of that I may need to know?

Pretty straight forward, easy swap. Your tuning will depend on what's in it now. If it's a 4six, you should get it tuned for the 5four. It will still run on a 4six tune, but not perfectly.
There's other differences, like ignition systems. You'll want to run a 4six ig on the 5four engine - IF the truck your putting the 5four in had a 4six. Yea, you need to know, you can find out from the VIN. That's if the factory (original) motor is still in it.
All in all, it's an easy swap either way.
