Only a matter of time for a COP to go anyway. I've had the Lightning for 5 years, I hate nasty engine bays so I will continue to clean it.

I've had this truck for 11 years. Feel the same way, but I'll continue to do it the smart way. My luck ran out doing it the other way. What a PITA that was.

That SG cleans your sinuses then goes for more lol. It's no good on rubber, specially if you let it sit to long. Works great on metal, but again, it can't sit to long, you gottuh get on it lol. I like to take a little more time I guess.

NAPA use to have a great engine cleaner, I can't recall what it was called?
The nice thing about glass cleaners is they dont leave a residue that attracts dirt. Neutral ph as well.
Works as a carpet spoter as well but stay away from glass cleaners that have amonia. That will burn carpet fibers.

Yea, they get the MAF wires squeaky clean as well

But that's a "do at your own risk" procedure.

solvents are neutral and they dont have water in them. Better for electrical components..

H20 corrodes and compromises components easily, I've found that out the hard way.

Someone from marketing @ CRC got a big promotion with their MAF cleaner. All bull , that stuff leaves a hell of a residue on the wires, it's a PITA to get off lol. Have to use a paint prep cleaner to remove easily, it's like a goo lol.

So why try to help these poor soles. Let them learn the hard way.

We'll see them back here again with a misfire problem in the future. This thread just tells me why there's so many lol.

Hmm. I've used that CRC on my Trans Am because the MAF wires were covered with oil from a K&N filter(note oiled from K&N so it should not have been over oiled). Anyway I didn't have a problem with any CRC residue afterword....the engine idled much better. Haven't used the CRC since then because the K&N went in the trash can.

Correction, you didn't have a problem that YOU were aware of.
