04 Econoline 5.4

I been looking around for a spare motor for when mine takes a dump or future build up. Obvisoly I am looking for a 04 5.4 so I know I am getting good block and the good heads. So far the only one I have found is out of an Econoline for $1800 with around 60,000 miles. So my question for you guy is, how much would you guys pay for an 04 5.4 and is there anything major differences in the Econoline motor that would keep me from putting and L charger or just replacing my current 01 motor. Thanks

If you are looking for a spare for your 2001 truck in your profile, then yes, one out of an 04 van SHOULD work. However, so will any 2001-2003 out of a F-150 or Expy.

Ok cool, I would try to fine one out of an 03 but all the junk yards around here take the motors out of the vehicle so you dont get a chance to get a production date. The only ones they dont take out are the Vans.

That van engine will work. Might have to swap intakes but the engine will work just fine.

Look for a sticker on the valve cover - if it's still there and readable it will have the production date.
