Sounds like you got a good price. I'm running those Iridium's as well. I didn't notice any boost in performance, but I figure there has to be , -a little. I'm getting 16 mpg city since those went in , that's a first.

If you like your truck and its in good shape with no/minor rust. I wouldent think twice. I have a 97' Expy with the 5.4 and i having serious engine noise upon start up and im thinking about replacing the engine just because the expy is spot less! These days 97' Expy's or F150's that are rust free are rare here in MI.
I'm still considering that option. Thing is this engine is in great shape runs great and all just got this oil leak. I'm in no rush. i'm still thinking about it. In the end I want to do the best thing for the truck it is in good shape with very little rust or body damage. Thought about selling it and getting a newer on but I've been looking around some and it looks like I'd have to come up with 7-8 grand to make it worth doing that option. Having it repaired at a dealer might be the smart way to go..

I had a buddy from Lansing when I was a late teen ager. He brought this chevy impala with him. One of the most rusted cars i've ever seen..

Yea, it depends what other options you may have. If you have a place to work on them, then it's nice having a spare motor to mess around with. Like it's been said, you can get one for around the same price.

What to do ????

I get winter weather but its not that bad as far as snow fall goes. In Salt Lake we dont get to much snow. What I hate about winter here is the darn inversion. Nasty fog can last for weeks. Couple of years ago we had a record breaking streach of inversion never got above freezing the whole time. When I retire I'm getting out of Salt Lake because of it. Dirty snow and ice everywhere. The snow is cool dont mind that. Fun if you have a snowmobile. Had a couple I sold last year. The mountains in the snow are something else.

This is me in the Uinta mountains here in Utah snowmobiling.. It was cold that day under 10 degrees. Absolutely beautiful though. Have to get another couple of snowmobiles someday.
