Nice truck, but I hope he isn't planning on doing heavy towing - the 5.4 in a Super Duty is underpowered.

stock tuned yes, but my dads 06 f350 4x4 did great with the superchips flashpaq in it. towed better through the mountains than his old 99 suburban did with the 7.4.

well my grandads 2006 stock 5.4 pulls the 30' gooseneck with a 22k pound bulldozer just fine. which is what my daddy will use his for, as well as tractors and cattle from time to time

he wont use it THAT much, thats why he was iffy on a 3/4 ton.

Well your no help lol. My oldest has my youngest wanting me to get one now. They want a black one - No way, never get black. I'm definitely getting white again. Depends on how things go, I might, I'm due.

I've heard rumors about the diesels, some as far fetched as a 450 hp 500 trq. twin turbo's lol.

Nice looking truck your dad got. Love that color. A tune would wake that engine up

I heard the engine was rumored to be an in hosue 4.4L Diesel

Navistar got intoa lawsuit with Ford over it IIRC. They had helped develop it and then Ford continued it and took it for their own.

I thought they nixed the 1/2 ton diesel idea because of the economy and other stuff? maybe it was just on the back burner... I can't remember
