Yep, came with 4 springs from the factory

Not a very good pic, but -

A little better lol -

That's the 98 4x4 ^^^ The 01 was a 2wd 4 door with 3 springs. Ugly as hell too, purchased from a guy than ran into problems, - then sold her quick lol. Wish I would have swapped seats first - Ahh, that didn't seem right, for some reason lol.

Looks like you got new U bolts on there? Was that due to a lift or something?

Klitch, That's right.... I do have the E4OD, so I do have the longer torsion bars....

Here is mine with 6 leafs! Note the stock leafs and the overload one and how it's bent flat!... It's really only working with 2 leafs on the stock pack! Must have happened when I bump stopped it! ha, ha!

Haven't hit the bumps since I added the overloads!

Mitch

BTW- The F250 wasn't PI'ed until 01 I believe.

YES, a wastegate on the boost side...

also the couple of procahrged superduty trucks I've encountered use the 6.0 stock intercooler and it seems to be better than the ATI 2 core...

his other option is a turbo

And.... compared to my 97, your 98 has the same GVWR and same Front GAWR as mine, but I only have a #3250 Rear GAWR!! (I wonder if they were setup to be snow plows???? Mine did originate from Canada.... Humm...)

I've got the same 9.75" rear end, so I wonder what the difference is between all the years? How many leaf springs does your 98 have? My 97 only has 3... That's probably the difference right there!

I just know that when I did try to load about a 'ton 'o' bricks' in the bed when I first got the rig, it totally went to the rear bump stops! That's when I added the overloads and never looked back!

I'm sure my 9.75" rear is the same as all the others, but I've always wondered about the low rating on it.....

I'm sure I exceed it by a tad when I'm towing the trailer, but what the heck... It's got over 200,000 miles on it and no issues... Can't argue with that!

Mitch
Yea, I thru the car hauler on back of the 01, just to move the trailer and man, -I thought it was going to break it in two... Made a bunch of noises, felt like I had the brakes on, driveshaft didn't like it, had a weaker trans... It had a 5four, but what a wus lol.

No comparison to the 98.

Yea, I lifted it, only an inch and a half. My front end sat higher, so I went up a little.

Yea, I want to do what you did, that's a good set up.

200,000 miles. I think we're broke in finally

That's right , there's that turbo kit. That turbo I had on the 99 7.3 dually (before I totaled it) was killer thru the mountains of PA. Not sure what one would be like bolted down to a 5four lol.
