A little help please!

Hey guys, I havent posted in a few years as i got back into mustangs and have been doing a bunch of racing the last few years instead of messing with the trucks. Heres my problem, I bought a 2005 supercrew with a 5.4 a little while back to use as a work truck. It has 150,000 on the clock and runs great but when cruising @55-60mph when you floor it and it kicks down into passing gear it dosent want to shift up untill you slightly lift a little. Today after it did this, an engine light came on in the lower left corner and the truck ran like crap for a few minutes untill the light went off and then it started running great again. Has anybody experianced this? If so, what did you do to correct it? Thanks.

scan the truck for codes. sounds like a tranny issue

I'll scan it and see what comes up, the tranny was rebuilt prior as a solution to this problem and that didnt help. I guess i should have mentioned that, sorry.
