Engine Hesitation

I need help guys. From a dead stop, I'm getting a hesitation. If i keep my foot on the accelerator, it will eventually pick up to where it needs to be in about 15 seconds. Trying to solve the problem, I've changed the cats, replaced the throttle position sensor and plugs all OEM. I finally gave up and took it in to a local dealer and was told that I had a #2 coil misfire. I changed it and still no change. I did find a hole in one of the EGR vac hoses. Changed the hose and while at it changed fuel filter. It ran like a charm for a couple weeks. The hesitaion started again yesterday. I'm now thinking if it's fuel delivery related. It was suggested a possible bad fuel pressure regulator. The problem I have is that my regulator is built into the fuel rails. How do I go about relpacing it? Do i have to replace the entire rail? I see that there's a o-ring around the regulator, so does that mean it can be rebuilt? Any comments on this are appreciated.

Do you have a CEL? Have you scanned for DTC codes?

This is one time that I wished the CEL would come on but unfortunately it's not. When I took it into the dealer a few weeks ago, no codes were being thrown then, but their scan did pull up the #2 misfire.

By the way GLC......out of curiosity, what does DTC stand for. I know that there are a lot of acronyms used in the forums to keep from typing these long names, but this one I'm not figuring out.
