Working on the truck now.
Up next is the PCV valve....But I'm not sure where it is?
There's a hose that runs to each valve cover; Do I have two PCV's, one at the end of each hose?
Thanks
i figure most people would find that "left side" would mean standing at the front of the truck, sorry............................................. .................................................. ..

WRONG..
The front of the truck is the same as the front of yourself lol - Look staight ahead, what's R/L ? The vehicle has a front and back, so the same applies.
Now you know what most people know lol.
BTW - The 04 heated PCV would be on the drivers side back by the firewall.

Thanks JBrew,
Why is the PCV valve heated?
The replacement one (Standard #V341) is just a normal rattler type.
Is the mount heated?
FYI, yest. I changed oil, Cleaned the MAF sensor, discovered that the throttle body was covered with an oily coating on the inside. I opened the butterfly and the top was coated with blackness. A good deusching with Gumout carb cleaner helped. I thought about removing it to clean it, but took the lazy way out.
I also replaced the fuel filter and serp belt.
I've got the plugs and di-elec grease but that (and radiator flushing) are going to be another day.
Thanks for the help.
Brew, I looked in the Rock Auto catalog, and I don't see a heated PCV valve for a 04 4.6. To the OP - if you decide to replace it, do NOT use anything but a genuine Motorcraft PCV valve.

I won't be getting back to the truck maintenance till next Sat.
I'll post any findings....
Thanks again.
GLC, I don't have a K&N....And what's wrong with using the "Standard" PCV valve?
FWIW,-The trucks running great after the MAF and throttle cleaning
Aftermarket PCV valves often do not have the correct tolerances. This can cause excessive oil consumption. Genuine Motorcraft valves aren't that expensive.
