gasoline engines - Ford 6.2L -vs- Chevy 6.2L
The new Ford 6.2L Boss -vs- the Chevy 6.2L Vortec
Ford released initial numbers of 425HP and 425 lbs./ft. or torque, later revised to 400/400. Hopefully we'll see some actual figures soon.
The Chevy produces 403HP and 417 lbs./ft. with a very flat torque curve.
Any thoughts on how these two engines will match up?

Thanks for your input DYNOTECH. I think Ford has been pretty conservative with their ratings, at least on the V-8's, for a while. Either that or other manufacturers are squeeking every last HP they can out of each dyno run. I really can't wait for some comparisons between the Ford and Chevy in the half ton trucks - the Raptor is going to be the better performing truck hands down, of that I'm sure.
There has been some frustration about the Raptor not getting special engine treatment from SVT, I'm pretty sure the 6.2L Boss will quiet those critics.
Please keep us posted if you hear anything else!

Numbers are in!
411 HP @ 5,500 RPM and 434 lbs./ft. @ 4,500 RPM!
Maybe Chevy did get word of how potent this new engine is. Market the heck out of the "most powerful half ton truck" while they can. The most powerful half ton truck isn't a Toyota or a Chevy anymore.... it's a FORD!

For now... *fingers crossed*

the sales must be doing well enough if they are still shoving the 6.2 out the door the last month of this year as far as ordering goes.
