Yea, I'm curious on labor rate as well, I know the times.

Fuel Injector:

Replace One:

Warranty pays = 1.0 hr

Standard pays = 1.4 hrs

Does Not Include: EEC Quick Test Or Pin Point Test Diagnosis Time. His bill sounds right IMO.

Well , the TSB I managed to pull up is a Tech instructional , not sure how I managed that, but it's the first I've seen in color lol.

I'm afraid all it states is for the 2005 model years - Some of them at that.

BUT- They do give what they call a - SSS # (Special Service Support #)

Says you HAVE to use this number only for reference to injector issues, from there you may obtain a claim number.

So you may still luck out , worth a try -

Got the truck back and the total to fix the injector came to $280.13. Here's the break down

Part $51.38
Labor $228.75

The Tech said the injector was stuck open.

Anyone have a service advisor tell that the PCM should be updated and itwould cost $90 to do so?

You lucked out then, things could have been much worse from one stuck open.

Yesterday when I was looking thru the 05 model year TSB's I seen a bunch of PCM revisions and superseded TSB's for programming.

The 2006 models might have a few, I can look those up to see for sure, but now is a good time to get updated IMO, - it's been 3 years after build dates at-least. Theoretically, your truck will run better updated, - IF the 06 has enough programming improvements to warrant updating.

That's what you want to do tho, thumb thru your model year TSB's and see what improvements were made and judge for yourself.

That I don't know, good question. I guess it might depend on running a canned or custom tune. You could visit your tuners site and/or inquire which ever way your most comfortable with.
You can also search for info on this site as well. I might try that first,- over here - http://www.f150online.com/forums/chi...rogramming-34/ and search just that forum or start a new thread of your own. I'm sure you get someone who knows something about that.

Ok, it's been about two weeks since I had the bad injector relpaced and now I'm getting a DTC code PO420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1).

After reviewing some posts related to this code, it looks like the bad injector may have fried my Cat. So I guess it's back to dealership.
