Whatever the case, it always has worked great. I know the stuff you are suggesting, silicone caliper and dielectric compund. I use that strictly on electrical items. Anti-seize has made brake jobs easy and keeps the brakes quiet as well. This is an area I know well and do often. Back to the topic at hand, next spark plug change probably won't require anti-seize, we'll see how that works.

Quintin hasn't been around a lot lately but he's one of the most knowledgeable F/L/M mechanics on this forum. I think he probably knows what he's talking about.

you have a hardware store like fasteners? i'd call them boys up, we get out supply for work through them. we gobble that stuff up like crazy. that and dow corning 111 compound for our pumps.

Ya, without getting into a pissing contest, I'm sure he does. All I'm saying is it works well for me wherever I use it. My dad is the one who uses it this way as a 40 year +/- mechanic so there is a bit of knowledge there too. He shows me stuff and it works well. Bottom line, the crap works well and can make one hellova mess if used sloppy!
