ahhhhhhh wtf! 4.6 troubles

Hey everyone, i got a 1997 F150 with a 4.6. A while ago i was getting lots of codes for misfires and i assumed it was the spark plugs, i replaced them, still had codes and the engine ran rougher, so i assumed i screwed something up so i took them all out again, bought the exact plugs that the manual told me to get, the motorcraft ones and put those in. still no luck, so i replaced the wires, seemed like a logical place to go next, didnt help. then i checked my codes again still had misfires and now a coil code. i thought, good now i know the issue, so i replaced the coil pack that had the failure (im getting a code that says " coil D malfunction") anyway i replaced that coil pack and it did nothing, so i replaced the other one thinking perhaps i replaced the wrong one. after replacing both coils i still had misfire and coil codes, i had a friend who is a decent mechanic look at it and he said it was wierd because i have 2 injectors that turn on for the first 5 seconds the motor is on and then they shut off, so we thought it was the ecm. i replaced the ecm. i still have coil d malfunction code and my truck still runs crappy, i dunno what to do. i dont know where to look next. the only place i can think of is mabey my wiring harness? thoughts anyone?

i've run into an issue where a customers truck (had the 5.4 in it) had 1 injector that would develop an open in the circuit internally when it warmed up. but 2? i dought thats the case. are there any other codes in the system? could you give the exact code numbers? are those 2 injectors getting a signal? check the harness as well.

If you have no compression on a cylinder, you have something very wrong. Next steps probably would be to remove the valve cover and have someone with a trained eye look it over (if you don't know what you are looking at), and then possibly borrow or rent a borescope if the upper valve train looks okay and you don't have a valve obviously stuck open.

At least #5 is easy to see and get at. Dunno what to say about #2 - unless those coil packs use a waste spark system and #2 is the cylinder that's in tandem with #5.
