Which RTV Sealant?

Which sealant do i use for the valve covers? I have to apply a dab where the head meets the timing chain covers. I went to the store and they have them graded on temperatures. Which one do I get?

The RTV that Ford uses during assembly is Loctite 5900 part # 20166. However a brand name automotive type gasket RTV (black) will work. Just make sure it is classified for automotive use. Household RTV has chemicals that can harm some of your vehicles sensors.

Thats the stuff I've used before with no problems. As long as it's oil resistant. If in doubt ask the store manager if thats what they recommend for your application. Just get the surface dry and clean before applying it. If its automotive RTV it will work. Good luck.
