what will "better" my mild cams?

Would fuel injector fuel pump 90mm MAF upgrades and throttle body plenum and intake porting get me more power? I have a programmer exhaust and intake, comp camps behive valve springs aswell. Whats worth the money for the power it will help produce?

Not really sure on the 99 years, but I wouldnt think you would need a fuel pump or injectors for performance yet. A 90MM MAF probably not. Porting the intake (upper and lower) and bigger Throttle body will see a gain in performance. Porting will be some down time on the truck.

I know it's more money but porting the heads is the way to go if your going to bother putting in better cams.
Porting the throttle body and elbow is good, but don't expect any more then 10 hp from it.
Unless you have an aluminum intake manifold you can't port it.
The other upgrades would be a wast of money. You don't need them unless you add a blower. They wont add any power to your combo now.

i take it the PI heads cannot be ported as i see everyone else uses stage 3 ported heads like you? Can the factory pistons withhold that setup if i did get ported heads aswell? What type of hp with the addons i have and the cams and porting get me? Anywhere neer 375-400 range? Ahh so many questions, i need to go to school for this stuff...

Yes PI heads can be ported, they have stage 1,2 &3. I would recommend a stage 2 for your truck. That would be plenty.
With a stage 2 head and mild cam you should pic up between 50 and 75 hp!

Neil was making the most NA hp that I have seen on this or any other site. I think he was making a little over 350RWHP with stage 2 Foxlake heads and porting of throttle body, elbow and intake. He had the 99 aluminum intake manifold.
When you start running a blower or nitrous is about the only time you would need better pistons, rods & crank.

I also used to run a stage 2 head.I just went to a stage 3 to try to get a little more hp as one of my last upgrades.
Not really sure how that worked out yet. Went to the track and riped my rear out. Just got it fixed so I'm breaking in the new rear for the next 4 or 500 miles and waiting for cooler weather to try for a better time.

badass man, definitally a fan of your setup without a doubt, just dont have the money you guys have ha ha. What do you mean by the stages? As that different stage porting? With the heads i got now. I dont really want to get into buying new heads, i just want to get the most out of the PI heads i have on my 2002 motor with about 98k miles. What and were do you suggest? I am having a hard time trying to find someone to do this porting ive called 30+ machine shops and engine building shops in minnesota and tried getting ahold of people out of state some i looked up some i got from this forum and everyone either "doesnt do anything like that" or wont responde. So what ever you have will help!

Stage 1 is mild port. Stage 2 is a medium port. And stage 3 they port them out as far as they can.
My TEA heads they put aluminum weld in the top of the head so they can get it ported more and have a straighter shot for the air to flow. There pretty radical.

Lightning heads are the same as your 5.4
I went with TEA for my heads and intake-manifold porting this time.

This is the heads I had first ( not the best reputation but I never had a problem with there heads and there the cheapest out there!)

Then there's Foxlake, They do nice work!
