oh sorry lol! I was just comparing price it looked like 2 haha sorry Phil. I really hope that my chains are not stretched because i do not have the extra money to buy chains and guides. If thats the only reason as to why they were loose like that than i guess i have to? I still want your studs tho...so please save them for me! Thanks onelowf , that should pretty much cover the timing. Ahh it is alot bigger task than i thought lol...WELL...The heads are off and ready to be sent to the headshop to be ported springs cams and valves installed. Hope this turns out good...Really nervous (as usual) about my work as i am in the learning process...

I set to TDC, #1 pistion is on top... So with that i took the timing gear indents circled in the picture and scratched a line into the guides directly off the cam gear indents...With staying on TCD, if i can somehow get the drivers side cam gear held in place (one that recoiled off the cam lobe) and toss the chain and tensioner on, this should time it exactly right? If im just putting it back exactly where it was when i took it off...Sorry i am not a confedent person so i need reassurance. Unfortunetly i cannot really follow ONELOWF's link because i already took the chains off.
In the pic, the red lines i made are the cam gear indents to where i marked on the guide with a razor blade. I did the same on the passanger side except you cannot see an indent.

ahh why is it so impossible? I cannot find any information about how i line up the cams its all marking the chains when you take them off. I know on 350s there are notchs on the crank AND cam you line up together to time correctly...There has to be something the notches on the cam gears go off of and have to line up to...Right?

You have mail - Let me know if it helps, I may have something else up my sleeve if it doesn't. It might take a bit tho, -sleeves are packed
Well, being that ive made so many little stupid threads which just makes a waist of space on this forum i really didnt know where to post pics of the mild build project. Last weekend i spent 8+ hours with 10 different wire wheel bits and one high rpm drill grinding all the crap off all the parts and the block, ready to paint it! Here is my progress, not comparable to SOME PEOPLE on this forum, wont name names (built54, boss1984, phil6608 ) I still need to do some touch ups but im going to let it tack up tonight, being that it was layed pretty good and is turning out far better than i thought!
