It all depends on the department manager and the employees. They are not ALL bad. Dealerships are not ALL good.

The only reason I change my own oil is so I KNOW what went in it. In most of these truck an old dude like me can do it in 10 or 15 minutes. The only way walmary would do any of my trucks is if I picked the stuff and watched them do it. Might as well do it myself..

i say ask around for a reputable local mechanic...alot of the independent mechanics ae good..they cant afford to be making big mistakes like not tightening plugs etc.. losing an engine etc...

I agree with glc. If you know the people, such as in a small town like Roseburg pop less than 20,000, it may work out. I had my Ranger serviced through Walmart for ten years with no problems.

QFFT

I was sentenced to 2 years at a Wally World supercenter and that was as close to hell as I want to get.

We had a problem with WW when we took the wife's SRT4 to have her new tires installed and balanced: We went back to pick up the car 3 hours later and they had not touched it

When asked they said the wheel (Factory 17 inch) would not fit on their machine, and when asked why didnt they inform us they said its policy not to

So we took it to a small mom and pop shop up the street and they had it done in less than an hour!!!!

WW = No customer service.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Probably the truest statement in this forum this year. How about going to the WalMart in question and watch the guys work. If you know anything at all of wrenching you'll know if they have a clue or just idiots drawing a paycheck. If they look good, chat with the shop foreman and voice any concerns you might have. If he is worth a hill of beans he'll be bragging on his shop and his people.
