reset code on ford expedition

I have read most of the threads on codes. My code came back p1451....I went back to the canister and found the wires were cut/chewed in half....I have reattached the wires...but still have the check service list on....I have done 3 new starts and drive aways....to see if it will reset.....

any ideas?? Can I reset the code myself? If yes, How?

Thanks

disconnect negative battery cable and turn the headlight switch on for about a half hour.

No such luck

Well I am pretty sure the computer was reset.....drove it down the road then cut it off....when I turned it on again the service light came back on.....guess I am going to give up and let the dealer look at it tomorrow.

thanks

Uhh, do you know what year it is?

P1451 Evap. Emission Control Sys. Vent Control Valve Circuit Malf.

There's more than one valve.

Disconnect the battery for a half hour, -then reboot.
