Project Freak Nasty

I figured I would post a few short vids of the old combo before it gets an attitude adjustment.

I have a mmr short block on the way and having a local machine shop do the heads. A Borg Warner s475 will relieve the vortech of its boost duties. I am really pumped about the build. I was going to go 4v but decided to stick with the 2v heads.

Sounds like a pretty great project. Is there any kind of kit to run that turbo on our trucks? What are you going to do for tuning, and piping?

take lots of pics!

I am not concerned about lag at all, I have been doing my homework for the past 2 months and time and time again I was told go with the s475. Everyone I talked to said that with a T-4 .110 exhaust housing I should be at full boost at ~3500 rpm. As far as tuning, I got in good with Blankenship Tuning and Performance and he has been their anytime I needed anything. My truck would not be anywhere near what it is today without Lee doing the tuning. After i did the 5.4 swap it weighed 4450 my goal is to be around 4000 at race weight. With the curent combo the truck ran a 8.50 in the 1/8 with my worst ever 2.1 60ft on nitto 555R's and my goal is to run deep in the 7's by next fall.

Well my fuel system is coming together as the truck is coming apart.

Just a small comparison of what the stock pump looks like compared to an a1000.
