The truck had a miss yesterday and i could not find it so i got up early today and went looking. I pulled all the plugs and they were all black and smelled like gas. I have msd coils so i put a stock set on and it was still their. I had pulled the codes and i had 7. One was the coolant sensor malf. so i went and looked and sure enough it wasnt hooked up fixed that. Cam sensor A something was another so i had another sensor and that fixed that. The rest were evap and codes saying the fuel pump wasnt working. They will be turned off in the tune. I checked all the wires again and fired it up and it ran perfect. I dont know where the miss was or where it went. The only thing i can figure was when the coolant sensor wasnt plugged in it was dumping fuel to it and possibly fouled one out. It runs perfect now. As i was putting it up the fuel pump sounded like it was surging and fuel pressure was too so tomorrow i will check all my grounds and go from their. All that is left is to get a heat exchanger and pump and get that done and to get a little battery.
I am shooting for 2 weeks to have it on the dyno, i am going to get everything lined out and take it down the road a few times to get some miles on it.
hopefully your GF will understand why you did so much work on the truck

A short sound clip of it. It is getting tuned asap. As you can see it is running rich. I am going to throw in a new set of plugs and change the oil again friday and possibly take it for a late night cruise.
The fuel pressure issue i was having was an easy fix. I looked in the cell and their was next to no fuel in it. So i went and got gas for it and everything is fine now. Me and a buddy took it down the road and back about 2 miles just cruising it and it ran like a champ.
The gf stopped past for a few tonight. She just graduated nursing school and is doing 132 hours of preceptor ship. So that has left me a lot of time to play. She knows how much i like my toys.
It is mainly the cams. JL said they would be pretty choppy, but said a good tuner can tune most of it out. I am sure the tune has some to do with it too. It is just a start up tune that he wrote one night that is really close. I think my programer took a **** on me. I loaded the tune fine and when I tried to change the idle the screen went to diagonal and dash marks LOL. Does the madness ever end.

ahh gotta love women like that my g/f is the same way. she keeps pestering me to finish the new motor so she can drive it.. i said "well see"....
I got off work early yesterday and went to O'reilys. I got a new set of plugs and oil and a filter. I changed the oil and plugs and gave her another good detail. Me and a buddy ended up taking it out last night. I am very happy with how the build has went. The truck drove like a stock truck and never had the first issue out of it all night. It didnt get over 180 all night till i got in town and got stuck at a few red lights and it got to around 195ish. I havent wired my efan back up yet. I ended up putting 71 miles on it last night and it felt good. I had everyone convinced i put a cold air intake on it and messed up the vacume lines and thats why is had a choppy idle
^^^ awsome, wait till you open it up for the first time

I ordered intercooler pump and a new intake temp sensor and they are said to be here tomorrow. I dropped my water tank off to get some mounting tabs put on it and it is said to be done tomorrow also. The goal is to get the intercooler all done and get it on the scales tomorrow. I am shooting for 4,000lbs i hope i am close, i have more left to take out yet. It is getting tuned saturday morning.
Just got home from the dyno, it ended up making 462hp and 537 torque. I am very happy with the results. I filled the tank with ice for the runs and the intake temps never got over 122*. Remeber this is a new motor with 80 miles on it, so we didnt push it at all. It was seeing 13lbs with a 4lb lower and a 2.8 upper and still running the 42lb injectors. The heads are unported with springs and valves. It was still making power at 5300rpm but me or him didnt want to keep pushing such a new motor. I am really happy it has been a long road and it is finally paying off.
After we pulled it off the dyno i took it to the gas station and did a couple short runs with it. It actually hooks, i cant believe it. The vortech combo would send the tires up in smoke mashin it and this hooks and goes and its on drag radials. I guess the cams moved the power up in the rpm range or maybe it is the fuel cell at the back of the bed that is helping out. Other thank the blower belt eating the upper radiator hose while loading it on the trailer to go home, it was a pretty good day. A huge thanks goes to Lee Blankenship for working his magic with the truck as always.
