If weight isn't an issue put a 9.75 in it and call it a day.
only thing that causes the 8.8's in the trucks to break is wheel hop causes the spiders to lock up and break. other than that with some traction bars the 8.8 will hold up just fine!

Well I took the truck to get a retune Saturday. It seems like everything I do turns into a battle. I got their at 8am and didn't leave till 5. We let it cool down and strapped it on. After a couple pulls we knew something was bad wong. The air/fuel was all over the place from pull to pull without making any changes. One minute it was rich then it was lean. We kept checking everything under the hood and finally found the rubber sleve where the boost gauge goes was half off the T. So we put it back on and made another pass and it was good, he made some changes and it was all over again. This time the nylon line fir the boost gauge blew out of the rubber piece we put two zip ties on it and started making progress again. After countless pulls and a heat soaked motor it made 490/590 at 17lbs. I was out of ice after the first couple pulls and the intake temps were 145 at the end of the pull. It pulled 2* due to the intake temps. He said it would have made 510 with a good cool down and some cool temps. It had a 10 min cool down before the last pull. On top of it all I was hung over running on 4hrs of sleep. I am very happy with how the truck runs, it is a totally different animal now. The truck never quits pulling with the new pulley combo. It would start to fall off in the upper rpms but now it keeps pulling. It eats first and second like it is on wet pavement. I will get some videos this week.

I got jlp long bars now. It wil be getting a spool c-clip eliminators and braced up in the next few weeks. I am going to wait till I get the rear done to put the slicks back on, I am sure the new found power with sticky tires will be enough to kill the 8.8.

A little update

I finished putting my nitrous kit back on tonight. All that's left is to wire the button. The fedex man came today and brought the goods for the rear. He didn't get here till 8 so I'm going to tackle the rear tomorrow. I am going to have the rear and the rest of my recent mods finished up by Friday and go to the track this weekend. I ran a 7.60 with a ton less power leaving real easy. I am going to run it on boost the first couple passes and see what it does. I would like to see it go 6's on boost even if it is a 6.9999. I think it has the motor on boost to do it ,it's just a matter of getting it off the line. I really don't know what to expect with the nitrous. I am only going to spray a 75 until I get a controler.

New personal best 7.28 at 95.84 with a 1.62 60ft. It gets faster every pass, it's only 60* or so here. I'm letting it cool down and see what it does. I want a 6 on boost. The bottle is full so I'm making one or two more passes then I'm spraying it.

I made one more pass after I posted up and then warmed the bottle up. I pulled up did my burn out like normal and turned the nitrous on. I left at 2000rpm and sprayed it off the line. The truck left like a raped ape, it cut a 1.55 60ft. Then the truck completely lost power, I thought I lost a blower belt. I got out of it immediately and looked down and the fuel pressure said 0 while it was still running. I shut it off and coasted off the track and piped the hood and everything looked good. I turned the pump back on and the truck fired right up like normal. I drove it back to the pits and it acted fine. I poped the hood and checked everything and it was fine. It sit and idled fine, I decided to make another easy boost pass to see what it would do. I had no ice and thr motor was hot I left east and watch all my gauges and it ran a 7.51. It felt fine and pulled fine. Idk what happed on the nitrous pass. My buddies said it looked great on the spra comin off the line and it wad really coming on. I am callin my tuner and going to go over everythih today. My buddy got all passed on video do I will try and get some up.

And that is with stock 140k front springs and shocks. Everyone said it didn't look like that all night. It was insain how it left.

I just got off the phone with my tuner he said it's the wiring to the fuel pump. He said check all grounds and everything really close. I am going back to get it tuned for the nitrous in two weeks, he is going on vacation and booked till then. It's getting tuned for a 100 pill. I pulled 2* all the was across the board just to be safe, he said it should be fine since it wasnt an agressive tune. It was only a 75 shot. I had about half 93 half 110 in the tank. He said their is no way the nitrous had anything to do with the issue I had. He said it probably left hard enough to jar something with the wiring. Either way I need to find it, it's very very bad to loose fuel pressure. He also said the motor shouldn't be hurt or it wouldn't ran like it did on the last pass.

Turns out I did a bad crimp job on the ground on my relay. I lightly pulled on the wires by the pump and the relay and the ground wire pulled right out. I put another end on it and hit the switch and it seems to build pressure faster. It has me thinking that it had been loose the whole time. Either way it's fixed now and runs great.

Decided to make the trip to a 1/4 mile track last night. On the first pass as soon as I passed the 1/8 I knew I wasn't going to have enough gear. I hit the rev limiter and let out and ran a 7.47 @ 93 11.73 @ 106.73. I already signed up for a truck bracket class before I found out I was out of gear. I ended up going 3 rounds lifting at 5500 and coasting it. I wanted to spray it so I signed up for a trophy class. It was a 1/4 class but I was going to run 1/8 and load it up and go home. I got flustered and forgot to turn the nitrous on, when I got to the ticket booth he said I won, the other guy broke out. I was like WTF I only ran 1/8 mile and lifted I guess I could give this class a try. I ended up getting 3rd lmao. I dialed in a 11.55 and ran a 11.550 but I was late on the tree and got put out. The other car was a stock s10 that ran a 17.62 over and over. Just to show how hard the truck pulls up top my best 1/8 time was a 7.27 @ 95.58 and ran a 11.69 @ 95.37 on that pass. I let out and it still had enough speed to run a 11.69 at the same mph in the 1/4 as the 1/8. The most impressive slip I got is a 11.63 @ 33.14 mph I stood on thr brakes at 5500. My buddy went with me and got second with his duramax. He ran a 11.89 and broke out to the s10 that put me out. All in all it was a great night the truck ran like an animal all night and I won my first trophy lol.
