I am excited to say the mail lady came through today and brought my accufab. The only negative was the fact that it has been raining alll day and i couldnt pull it inside to put it on since their wasnt a tb on it. So i put it on in the rain and started it, now if it will only quit raining. A little size comparison with my wagon wheel pulley lol.

The truck isnt a daily driver. I drive it through the week very little and bring it out on the weekend. I have an ice tank and thats all. Before i leave the house i pack it full, not a big deal for me. Unless I am under boost the ice lasts for a while. On a normal weekend night i go to the gas station and get gas and a big bag of ice. Right before i go to race i pack it full and let it run for a few and im good to go. If it was a dd or i took it on long trips i would have one on it. I built it geared torward street racing and the track so no exchanger ment less weight and lines to have on the front of the truck. Brian told me he would practically give me his stock exchanger off his cobra if i needed it. It only has 3k on it but i dont see a reason for it. And yes i have logged my temps on the street while driving and they are fine. I rock the focus on long trips, it gets 35+mpg the truck doesnt.

I have to say,,if it was a good idea to not run one you wouldn't be the ONLY one not running one!
JLP has the fastest trucks around and I bet he runs one. On his street trucks and his track only trucks.

150XLT, that would make sense to purge it off the cowl then, it looks really cool to see a truck purge with it set up like that

Thats how it was before, it purged out the back of the hood at an angle toward the passenger side.

Back to the dyno

Saturday morning i am going back to the dyno. I got my aux. idler in and on on today. I put the 8lber on just to see how much of a longer belt I would need. I decided to try to put the 4lb belt on the 8lb, after about 5 minutes and a purple palm later(from the 1/2" rachet) I got that bitch on. I didnt think it would even be close to going on but it did. I am going to pick up a new gates belt probably tomorrow just for back up. I am running a gatorback now but have been seeing thread after thread saying how much better the gates HD belts are so i am going to try one out. I hope to make some good numbers with my combo and if all else fails my tuner is a metco dealer and told me he has a 10lber sitting on the shelf

I am pleased to say that i have less than $180 in the idler and the 8lber including shipping and i even payed extra for 3day air on the idler. Their is deals to be had on parts. Just for reference a new 8lber is $130.

I kept the 8.8 due to weight. It is lighter than the 9.75 of the l. I was told by two chassis shops that the 8.8 would hold with it being braced and the tubes welded. I am going to put a locker or a spool in mine and try and wait till this winter when it goes in for the cage and get the bracing done then. If weight isn't an issue put a 9.75 in it and call it a day.
