I took the truck out tonight and wow is all i got to say. I never really got on it hard today when driving it but that all changed on the way home. Me and a buddy played on the highway, he passed me so i passed him. Long story short i got to the house and i was shaking so bad it wasnt even funny. It actually scared me and i love speed. I turned overdrive off and smashed it and a split second later it was past 100. I thought the vortech setup was fun and i thought i would miss it but i was totally wrong. I should have did a L swap a long time ago. Eaton Power Baby

I figured it would make power down low but wow. I know what you and Boss been talkin about now. It instantly jumps to 10ish when you hit it. My tuner thinks the cams really helped out tons. He brought up a L dyno graph with a 6lb lower and it was done by around 4500. Mine was still making power when we let out on it. One of the first pulls was only to 4000 and it made 400hp then. I want to get some more miles on it and in a month or so i am going to put a 6 or a 8lb lower on it and throw some c16 in it and get a race tune for it. I will probably go with a 6lb, 2psi more, more timing and race gas should easily put me over 500hp i would think.

Tomorrow i am going to the track and going to see what the new combo has to offer. I am not going to haul it down just drive it at full weight on the lightning wheels with nitto drag radials. It has been hot here all week and tomorrow is going to be the same so their is no need to go all out and haul it. It has been hooking which has blown me away since it never did before on the nittos. I am thinking the fuel cell full of fuel at the back of the bed has helped out tons. As soon as i get the rear end issues fixed i will throw the bogarts and hoosiers on and go back.

In the next few weeks i am going to pull the blower back off and paint it. The plenum will be blasted and repainted. I found the plenum on craigslist, but it was what looked like powder coated white and had air bubbles in it, so i just spray painted it. Well it turned out like **** and looks awlful up close, so it will be redone when the blower comes off. A finished pic of the dirty engine

the coil pack setup or the msd's? The coil pack setup is what was originally on the truck and their was never a reason to switch to cop. I put the msd's on when i still had the 4.6 in the truck and never had a problem with them so i left them. A cop setup would be a lot cleaner but i have never had a reason to switch to it.

Well we went to the track last night. We decided to go to a track that just reopened this year from being bought and sold and then shut down. It was a bad idea to go their. Their damn printer quit working so no one got a print out, so i have no idea what my 60ft times were. You used to be able to go their on a friday or a saturday and test and tune and make as many passes as you wanted. We only made 2 last night. It was like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. Needless to say i wont be going back again.

After a 1 hour drive in the 90+ degree heat we finally made it. I drained the water tank and packed it full of ice and let the pump run for about 20 minutes and went to the staging lanes. The first pass out i rolled off the line and and layed into it and ran a 8.0. I then let it sit for 45 minutes while i kept feeding it ice. I went back up and was against a full fiberglass car and after i set on the line for a minute he shut off and they let me go. I was so pissed they made me sit their that long. I ended up running a 7.89 that pass leaving at about 1000rpms. I was going to leave around 2500 but after they got me all flustered my head wasnt in it.

I was very happy with how the truck ran last night. It was on the heavy lightning wheels, i has a nitrous bottle behind the seat i forgot about, a big craftsman tool kit, and it was hot as hell. I honestly think with all the extra weight out of it and on the bogarts and hoosiers, and hauling it instead of driving, it should easily run a 7.50. I never launched the truck on either of the two passes so with a cooler night, and less weight, and more traction look out. I could not be happier with the truck right now. The fastest it ever ran in the past was a 8.50 so i am in the right direction. My goal for the year is to put the 8lber on it c16, and a small shot to cool it and shoot for the 6's. I want to run in the 6's even if it is a 6.99. For the first time out with the new combo and 250 miles on it i couldnt be happier. My gf didnt go because it was so freakin hot and a buddies gf tried to video me but she didnt start till half track lol. The video sucked but i might post it up anyway.

I was glad it went good and I was able to drive it back home. I got a bunch of little stuff I am going to tackle in the next few weeks, then I'm going back. I just got home from a buddys house talking about what needs to be done. He has a fox body 331, f1r procharger. It went 6.10 118mph laying down on the top end a few weeks ago.
