intake manifold runner control location

Hey all, I have a 05 F-150 w/ 5.4 My engine light came on and the dtc read P2004(intake manifold runner control stuck open bank 1). The truck is under extended warranty, but this repair is not covered. It is still at ford and they want $550.00 to fix it. My question is, does anyone know where the imrc solenoid is and would it be to my advantage to try and repair it myself?

HI

Changed my CMCV today.

It is situated behind the intake manifold(between the manifold and firewall).

YOu need to put off the manifold, alternator.

This is a 2 hours job.

You can do it yourself if you know a little bit about mechanics.

Hi yes you can do it yourself i guess.

You have to be careful anyway, there are some connectors, air connections, that you have to disconnect.

I would be happy to help you if you have any questions,i took it off about 3 times......so i know what i'm talking about......

IMRC Question

I have an 06 5.4L and I am getting code P2006....same as you but mine is closed instead of open. I'm sure I can do it myself but I don't know what the part number is to order. Does anyone have that available?
Thanks!

Either create a photo gallery here or on a 3rd party site (photobucket, imageshack, etc...)

Basically the same procedure you used in Post #3
