Do Ford Gas Tanks Have Anti-Siphoning Blocks?

Do Ford Gas Tanks Have Anti-Siphoning Blocks? I'm not sure if that's what you call them, but the purpose is to prevent people from stealing your gas...

I installed a locking gas cap, and was told it was not necessary. Is this true?

i think they have little anti syphon ***** right in the filler tube. i think they started that in the mid 90's. you would littlerally have to have a flexible steel rod and keep banging the ball to be able to syphon the tank. even then it'll still be hard.

There's a screen and a flapper valve at the bottom of the filler neck. It would take a hose about the diameter of a drinking straw to fit down into the fuel tank.

That said, if crooks really, really want your fuel, they'll knock a hole in the bottom of the fuel tank and drain it out.

There is something in mine, I tried to syphon fuel out once but the hose would only go so far. . . so I cut the hose that goes from the filler neck to the tank and stuck the hose directly in the tank. . .

A few months ago, a lot of large delivery trucks in my area had holes drilled into the bottom of their tanks so that the thieves could drain the gas out.

I pulled mine out when I did the body lift and changed the filler tube. it's a plastic disc with a mesh that has about 1/8" square holes. That's what was in my '00.

Yep, he's got it. I had to replace my filler neck when the top of my tank rusted out.

If you want to syphon gas out, just disconect the hose that connects the filler neck to the tank right by the frame rail. (I had to do this when my dad stuck 10 gallons of 2 stroke gas in my tank)

a locking gas cap is still a good idea... I mean maybe no one can steal your gas from the fill tube... but they sure could put some thing in there!!

It's not just gas. They also steal catalytic converters.
