well i havent made it to the track just yet..workin on 1 lil issue on the tune..it pulls timing on a load and im just wanting to get that issue perfect b4 i go to the track...

i guess thats the only true way to find out is to see how close i am in the 1/4 in 3rd gear i just thought i would hit the limitor before i crossed the line..i agree with you JMC i DO NOT wanna hit OD at the track so i guess i gotta go there and try it as my truck sits now

thanks for all the help guys

Not trying to be a smart azz but there is a very simple solution.
TURN OD OFF! Then Raise your revlimiter!
Our trucks are not as different as you were saying(like JMC said,,trannies work the same)
As you know from running nitrous, you do NOT want to hit the rev limiter on the bottle!= bad news!
I have my revlimiter set to between 62&6400 rpm. And I'm not even close to that at the end of the 1/4.
I have a hard time watching the tack but I'm somewhere between 55 to 5800 going through the trap.

i think we are misunderstanding eachother..my OD will be off..i just simply didnt think i had enough rpm in 3rd to cross without over-reving...i just didnt think that my 3rd gear was long enough..as in i have to let off b4 the 1/4 not go into OD

Find out what your rev limet is set at,,and if anything you might just have to adjust it. But otherwize you should be fine with the 4.10s for now anyway.
Now when you start going faster and faster like we all love to do.You might need to make a gear change.
Like if you start hitting 125,130mph,then you'll have to go with 3.73s or 3.55s.

Another option might be to adjust your 1-2 and 2-3 shifts points. 100 rpms more for 1-2 and 200 rpms more for 2-3 would make 3rd taller so to speak. You do need to know how long your shifts actually take though, or you could hit the rev limiter at 6,200 from a commanded 5500 shift point

true, but my truck shifts very quickly within 200rpms of the set shift point..i have a troyer performance valve body and its shifts very quickly and firm..im gonna set my rev limit to 6200 and see if i can make it through the 1/4 with that without letting off
