05 Warning light /throttle code question

I'm a bodyman not a mechanic so I am just trying to get a basic idea of what might be going on. On my '05 5.4 automatic I had a "service engine" light come on. I took it to the dealer and they said it was a code 2106-throttle actuator. They cleared the codes and said it was fine. Before I left town I had a new warning light on! The little wrench light! I looked that up in the manual and it is the electronic throttle body control defaulted to a "limp home" operation!
Are these 2 things related?

yeah the two are directly related. that limp home mode is a good back up. thats suprising that they just cleared the code and sent you home. id go back and let them know what you think.

Tell them the light came back on and have them continue where they left off in their (sounds like incomplete) diagnosis.
The wrench light is an indication that the electronic throttle is at fault. They apparently thought you had no problem before, or they were not able to duplicate it then. Hopefully now they will find out why. Make sure they use the prior info and go forward from there.

OK, here is what happened at Ford. They said the little "wrench light" was putting out the same code that they found last Friday when the "service engine light" was on. So they cleared the codes and said "maybe" it will be allright now. Not too reassuring as I plan a 5000 mile trip south.
Mr service mgr. said there had been a recall in 04 or 05 on the throttle body and possibly that is my problem if the light[s] come on again.
No recall for me as this is a salvage/repaired truck.
Kboozy: was there no mention of recall/warranty on your throttle body?

Kboozy, it was not a recall or warranty. I just talked to my service manager. It was only a TSB - tech service bulletin.
Sorry, my mistake.

Right after buying my 2005, I had a similar problem. Was headed down the freeway and started running like crap, wrench light came on. I called the Ford dealer, they had me limp in, about 20 miles. They replaced the throttle body at 1600 miles. Never another problem.

TAC 2104 and 2112

2005 screw 57000 truck went in to failure mode to idle twice about a year ago. Ran seafoam through the brake vac and tank no issue until yesterday. It went into failure mode again twice then the engine light came on. Advanced Auto read the OBD and it gave me TAC p2104 and TAC p2112. Bought the Actuator at the dealer 119.00. Cleaned throttle body, replace part disconnected and reconnected battery no more issue. Inside of Factor Actuator was made out of plastic or pot metal. Maybe if ford had spent as much on the inside of the Actuator as the did on the locktight for the screws this would not have been an issue.
TAC Throttle Actuator Control passenger side of throttle body two star screws and electical plug.

Did they replace the whole throttle body instead of the sensor?
