smog pump

I have a 1994 F-150 4x4 with a tired 5.0. I have another 5.0 thats from a car. I think it probably from a 88-90 Crown Vic. My problem is that this engine doesn't have holes in the rear of the head for the smog pump hoses to hookup to. Can I just block off the pump or do I need to have the heads reworked off the original engine and install them on the Crown Vic engine before installing it in the truck? If I block off the smog pump what kind of driveability problems can I expect?
