The Windsor triton 4.6 had floating wrist pins and a bigger con rod. The cam caps on the Windsor are individual caps and on the Romeo they are a ladder type. The number of cam cover bolts differ. The timing chain guides are different. The Romeo crank has 6 bolts and the Windsor has 8. The Romeo crank caps have cap cross screws and the Windsor has bolts. The Windsor main caps also have dowels. The Windsor 4.6 is a little beefier.

How does the VIN code #'s tell you what motor specific you have? For instance I have a 4.6 Triton with a VIN code #6.
Thanks!

The differences between the two are minor, and the major specs like heads (actual port shapes), cams, and intakes are the same for all PI engines (4.6, 5.4, Lightning, etc.. included).

Mine has the 6 in the VIN# and it also has a "W" following the 6. I wonder if that is an indication? Im sure it isn't related.
Thanks for the info!!!!
I learn something new every day, (rather I want to or not, LMAO!)
