How do I ditch Factory Remote Oil setup??

Not shockingly, mine is leaking. After an oil change I developed a leak. Apparently the previous owner was running dino oil, cuz the new synthetic unplugged leaky line. Its leaking right at the junction between metal line and rubber.

This pic shows where the lines go into the block. I'm assuming the device on the right is the pressure sensor?

Since I have a body lift, getting in there isn't really that hard. I'd like to ditch the whole remote setup and just put the filter on the block. It doesn't look to me like I can just unbolt this thing and slap the filter right back on. What kind of adapter plate (part number or link appreciated) do I need to accomplish this?

Thanks a bunch!!

Positive. It's the line not seen in this picture (it's behind/below the one shown). I can take a picture of that too, but it's not the point.

The point is, what do I need to be able to put the filter in this location?

Thanks!

Idunno, haven't come across that question , but , you might be able to use the piece/adapter on the remote end in place of the hole system. - You know what I mean? If not , a salvage yard might help. You could always go to the dealer if money isn't a concern.

Yeah, that's just it. Money is the problem right now (post-Christmas).

You think maybe the remote end would mate to the block in place of the existing contraption on that end?

Hmm...interesting idea. I don't reckon (haven't looked though) there's a place for the pressure sensor.

How do they do it on the 2000+ models that didn't get the factory relo kit?

Thanks!

I looked around - All I could find is replacement gaskets and high pressure O-Ring kits for your unit..

Good Luck.

you could take the lines into a parts store (or industrial hose house) that makes hydraulic hoses and have new hoses crimped onto the existing metal tubing
