installing headers hard?

installing headers hard?

i heard that a new set of headers will add a lot of xtra HP...is this true??


if so...is it really that hard to install them myself...

or should i have them done?

I put shorties on my truck, took about 4 hours. I put it on the dyno and gained no hp or torque. I took those off and put on dynatech long tubes in 2 hours. Put it on the dyno and gained 30hp and 35ftlbs. I would say if you have the mechanical ability, you can do it, its not too hard.

30 hp! Hay built54 do you think there is that much from a stock engine?

What brand/model of the shorty headers made no power? How much were They?

HI!... Most shorty headers make no power on the modulars. If your going to spend the money on headers, get long tubes. I'm running the KOOKS S/S L/T's which have been ceramic coating. Noticed a huge gain in H.P/TQ. But for $900 I better have.
