quick idle ???

quick idle ???

My trucks idle fluctuates between 690 and 714 rpms is that normal.It sounds like a slight miss.Any suggestions? 2000 5.4

If it's not idleing smooth you may have a dirty idle air control valve. Do a search on the IAC. 700rpms is pretty close to normal though.

IAC is new as well as fuel filter,plugs,air filter,cleaned TB,adjusted TPS to .98 COPS and Injectors are original

690-714 sounds completely normal to me. If it's rolling or surging, that's different, but those numbers sound like the numbers off the HEC test... Nothing abnormal.

You're worried about an idle variance of 24 rpm?

Thanks,i guess maybe i was just looking for something wrong.I still think it sounds like a slight miss.The rpms fluctuate constantly between those numbers at idle and also if you hold the accelerator steady in park you can hear a miss.

Could be the PCV elbow at the TB.

What kind of plugs did you puit in?

Just a few thoughts off the top of my head.

if it starts jumping around 500-1000 rpms then id say you have a problem.

Could be your A/C compressor cycling off and on
