Yeah that's stuffs expensive. I found it cheaper buying Master CD's off eBay..Infact I'm checking out a 98 workshop manual DVD I just got last week - it's cramed with more info then I ever received on ALLDATA..

It was only 10 bucks..If you want to use my ALLDATA account on the 98 only PM me or tell me what your looking for other than what you said above....

Yeah so far that's what sucks - The CD/DVDs are in PC formatt (.exe) . I've been meaning to reformat, I haven't worked on that yet. Re- format your diagrams in "PDF" form on a PC - "save as"..

I use a MAC it's easy on a MAC there built for that crap , but I'm going to have to build it as a PDF file as well. If I had the Intel MAC, it wouldn't matter - big if.. You'll figure it out, see if adobe will convert it or I'll let you know what I had to do to convert. Try Googles free Picaso2 picture program , that's pretty versital for a PC program..

Well that wasn't to bad - this just came from the DVD - But I kinda cheated lol - I copied it to My Pictures folder on the PC and from there I sent it to some free Yahoo mailbox, from there I sent it to the MAC and then to the desktop - the MAC converted to a GIF and from there imported into this site, then clcked forum codes and copied , then pasted here..It took longer to explain than it did to do lol..Theres got to be an easier way, but that didn't take to long....

Camerothatcould, do they truely leak as in there is a serious head gasket problem, or do yours just seep oil like mine do? Being a Ford tech, what do you think about this situation? Fine as long as they hold where it counts or fix ASAP?

jbrew, sorry I haven't IM'd you yet...are you saying you don't have any more to offer now? If not, no problem and thanks again for the offer.

I see this all the time. I ask the techs why this happens, they have said the heads have burrs in them and they leak from the showroom. It seems to be the 98 year only...

Drive it til it dies. Thats what I'm doing, then its a Whipple'd 5.4 swap, F-250 Diesel, or a Chevy

I knew the 4.6's generally had head gasket issues. I guess i'll ignore it till I hear otherwise. Thanks.

I just replaced an 4.6 a couple weeks ago due to oil leak from the heads. There is a tsb on it. metal shavings get between the head and block near the oil ports. (rear corner on the pass side, front corner on the drivers side). If it aint leaking bad, i would leave it alone, cause if the dimple is to deep the only fix is to replace. And if you want to replace i got a nice 4.6 sitting in my garage.

Yes sir. Most of the 4six they fix, they have to send the heads out to be milled and most of the time the blocks also have to be surface decked. In that case, a new engine is on your wish list.

SOB that's exactly where I noted the source of the leaks. Are you guys saying it's cheaper to drop in a new motor than to pay to have the work done on the existing one? Too bad the 5.4 won't bolt up to my tranny.

Was yours just leaking on the exterior like mine, or did one actually fail?

It's cheaper to watch ebay - Brand new 4 six heads just went for $260 or so, just an example..
