ok so im just beggining to tinker with my 2006 f150 fx4 5.4 so i ordered a round K&N filter that was said to match my year truck and i got it and went to put it in and my filter is a rectangular one! now i have seen the rectangular one on ebay and im assuming that is what i need to get but i just wanted to check with the experts to make sure that im not missing something here...

 

It is rectangular and flat.

I have no idea unless it is for something other than the 5.4. But, I had a service manager at my dealer try to tell me that the 05 5.4 only took 6 qts of oil. So you never know. I had to show him in the manual why my truck was a qt low after an oil change. If the 06 filter is the same as for the 05, and I assume it is, it is rectangle.

 

yes i think it is the rectangle, i think the round one is for the cold air intake so heres the one im going to order, does this look all good? thanks
