ordered new cops and plugs for what??
I ordered new cops and plugs for my 1997 f150 w/5.4 in hopes of not blowing out another plug but I blew it out anyway and the very next day my cops and plugs came in. How lucky can you be.?? Damn Ford and their better ideas. They sure are expensive to keep em number 1.
And no one will do anything about it at all except charge you another arm and leg to fix it.

no I ordered them to try to prevent them from blowing out, but they came in 1 day too late. 1st one blew out at 80,684 miles, now at 90,941 the second one blew. If you even think you have an exhaust leak, you better check em quick or you will be sorry. always a day late or a dollar short.

Yeah, I just got done fixing that heater line that runs on top of the block behind the alternator - Had to pull the manifold to get to it - Anyway 206,000 on my 5.4 and for the first time when checking the plugs #4 was only finger tight and the rest only had a couple pounds of torque on them.
Soooooo, I'm switching plugs to NGK's. NGK's are the only plug that uses a compression washer. That will keep them tight...

Yeah, that was a thought, adding something to the plug like a washer of somekind. I'm not sure about steping up a tappered plug though, yuh gotta figure in the fact they sit in the head a bit..You would be takin that away as well..
