Question Low RPM=weak power

So in the past month or so, my truck has gotten a lot of work to it. Especially since it hit 100k. At 90k miles I changed the plugs/wires/fuel filter. After it hit 100k, I pulled the TB and completely cleaned it(the egr ports were litterally packed with carbon), I also changed the bad o2 sensor that kept tripping my SES light. And I cleaned the MAF. Ive noticed in the past few weeks that when Im in the low range rpm's up to 2500, my truck accelerates like...well it doesn't actually lol. From a dead stop if I floor it, it will take off kinda quick then between 2500 and 3k it takes off like a rocket, then after about 3300 it gets out the powerband and shifts then it happens all over again. Whats the deal fellas? I know it's definitely not a misfire I know what those feel like. My air filter gets changed every oil change. Could the fuel filter have gone bad in 10k miles? THanks in advance

Could you have a trans problem. First smell the trans fluid on the dipstick to see if it has a burnt smell or a darker than normal look. Get a trans scan for any codes.

Did you get any type of warranty with the new tranny and if so I would have it checked out. If the tranny is ok I would be looking at the CAT, but that would or should be showing a code. You said you changed a bad 02, was it a front or a rear of the CAT? Do you remember what the code for the 02 was?

Clogged cats...? Gutting my cats gained a TON of power. 116K on em when I did it... Mine pulls hard to 5400 RPM when it shifts at WOT.

Unless the cat is clogged, gutting it won't do much anyway. Modern cats flow pretty well.

I assume that since you changed the wires, you have a 4.6. Have you checked that all the plug wires are on? Did you replace the cap? Usually, a lack of low-end grunt means a sparkplug wire is grounding to the block instead of through the plug.

Wouldnt that cause a miss? It definitely isn't a miss, just a turtle until about 2500rpms.

I wanna gut my cats but theyre pretty strict around here w/the emissions testing and stuff. Prolly a stupid question but you gutted all 4 right?

Yes. They aren't strict about the emissions testing out here, just a visual check for me and an OBD-II computer scan and I'm good to go...
