Spark Plug for 98 4.6???

I just rolled over 150k miles over the weekend and I'm still on the stock spark plugs and cops. I've noticed lately anything over 1/2 acceleration I hear some detonation and I was hoping new plugs may cure this problem. What spark plug and gap do you guys recommend for my truck?

thanks,
Jim

I would highly recommend that you go to your dealer and buy the recommended plugs.

Why not get them from a auto parts store? Is there a certain plug I need or something?

Because if you use an aftermarket plug and don't get the exact right kind, you may end up with pinging etc.. You had good service out of your factory plugs. Why would you want to change brands? Nothing good can come from that.

I'm not wanting to change brand of plugs.. I was just curious what Mototrcraft plug I need and what to set the gap at?

I just went to the dealership and asked them for the right plugs for my engine. I left the gap alone. But I'm purty sure the plastic cover on the raidator tells you what to gap them at. If not, let me know, and I won't tell anyone that again.
