Oil filter line leak
#2
you have the oil filter under the drivers side bumper right?? only way is to replace. ford wants 140$ for the set. i think summit racing has them for cheaper. there not hard to replace. youll need some extensions to get the oil filter adapter off. thats bolted to the frame.i had a small leak in mine and it blew out. i lost like 5 quarts in 5 seconds. lucky i didnt lose the whole engine.

When I use a mechanical oil guage in the cab of a vehicle, I always use a hydraulic hose. They are VERY tough. Nearly indestructable, (especially at 100psi or less) unles they rub something.
Edit: I called my local NAPA, and they will make 1/2 inch (4000 psi) hydraulic hose for $4 a foot. Plus the ends. Pipe thread ends are under $5 each. That's got to be less than $140, and they'll never give you any problems.

Electician's spiral wrap will also work to protect hoses, but the cheapest and toughest thing to use is old (or new) heater hose, split it, and use it as a sleeve over the oil line, then secure it with cable ties, making sure the split's facing downwards to drain moisture, but avoiding rubbing points.
I've used bits like that for years as protection, it works really well.
