5.4 Intake Interchange

Hello,
I've got a 2002 F150 with the 5.4. I'm looking to replace the intake because a few of the COP bolts broke when I was removing them. I found an intake off of a 2006 5.4. Are these the same intake?

Chad

nope, 04+ was 3v and i believe that was a new intake as well.

i may be able to sell you my OEM one off my 5.4, it is by no means clean. it was taken off within 2 days of having the engine since i'm looking to build it to a lightning

pulled off a 02 f250 5.4L

Intake

Ok, sounds good. I knew that the 3V engine was different but didn't know if the intake was a carry over for it or not?
That sounds great. How much are you asking for it? I can clean it up myself. Do you think I can pull my intake from my engine with it in my truck? Is this how you did yours? Let me know.

Thanks,
Chad

i figure $75 + s&h seems a reasonable asking price.

my motor was on a crate when i pulled it, but yes you should be able to pull yours without any problems. being as its really just a few bolts on the outside edges after you pull hoses and the air intake out of the way.

but first before you think about spending money on a manifold. can you remove the broken bolts with an e-z out?

Tried...

I tried the EZ-out method, but only ended up breaking the EZ-out bit inside of the hole I drilled out. These bolts are in there pretty good. I ended up pulling the EZ-out bits out of the hole and then drilling it out into the brass bushing and then putting a self-tapping stove bolt in there to hold the coil down temporarily until I can figure out this intake situation.
Where are you located? I was thinking of around $50 for the intake.
