HI!... Well it's hard to port the plenum due to it's made from ABS plastic. You can gasket match it but that's about it. The aluminum intake manifold can be ported and gasket matched. Also the TB ELBOW can be extensively ported and gasket matched.

LOWER PLENUM :

INTAKE MANIFOLD :

TB ELBOW :

What TRICK flow is calling a plenum is actually called the TB ELBOW.

Yeh, I Guess Porting The Tb Elbow Is What I'm Talking About. Looks Like A Rough Sand Casting In There....can't Be To Good For Smooth Air Flow. YOURS IS MORE LIKE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!! LOOKS GOOD !!!!

I have a 00 Harley Davidson and became very interested in getting rid of my plastic intake and putting on an aluminum one. I got ahold of one and ported it very similarly to Neal's. I didn't go as drastic as he did on the intake ports and I kept my divider where the throttle body sits on. I sorta chickened out since this is my first time porting. I ran into a small snag, the intake bolts are about 1/8" too long so I can't torque the intake down yet. Gonna hit the store tomorrow and get smaller bolts then I'll be ready to fire it up. I'm so excited to see what, if any, difference there will be between the stock plastic set up, or the somewhat ported aluminum intake.

Well I got the truck back together but have one snag...somehow I got coolant into a few spark plug holes on the drivers side of the motor. Thought I had it all dried up, but I'm getting a misfire on #6. I drove it a little to see if it was just a bit of moisture on the tip of the plug, but I think the coil is done. It felt alot peppier, even with a half dead cylinder. Going to buy a new coil tomorrow, so I'll fill you guys in.

SUCCESS!! Found coolant in cylinder #5 at the base of the plug. Whats weird is last night it threw misfire codes for #6, and then this morning it was #5. So just blew the coolant out and voila......it runs so awesome now. Half throttle and I'm starting to spin the wheels. Thanks Neal for the picts of your porting job, I did mine almost like yours and I can't believe the difference. I know where that stock plastic intake p.o.s. is going next........
